Empowerment Session: Client Spotlight #2 January

I just love it when my clients share their thoughts about their empowerment boudoir session with Amy Paine Photography! This one got me straight in the heartstrings.

What did you get out of your empowerment session with us?

*TW: mention of dieting and loss of partner*

Often, people will come in for an empowerment photo session with the initial idea to gift it to a partner. For this beautiful human, it was about finding her strength and confidence after losing her partner.

Here is part of her story and why it was important to do this empowerment boudoir experience:

“I’ve always been a tomboy and a bit on the heavier side. In 2016 I decided to start working out and watching my diet. My boyfriend was diagnosed a few months later with liver failure. He decided he did not want a transplant, and he was given 1-4 Years. On January 7th, 2019 he passed away, he was 39, I was 36. We were a month shy of our 15th anniversary.

Fast forward 18 months and I tried to enter the dating world again but it was nothing like it was before. Very heartbreaking for somebody who was already damaged.

Doing the session with Amy [in August of 2020] gave me the encouragement that there is nothing wrong with me and the right person will see that when the time comes. I feel so strong and confident and sexy. I never would have said that about myself before seeing myself in the pictures.”

How did the reality of the photo session and the resulting images compare to your expectations?

Everything went above and beyond what I was expecting. Amy made everything very comfortable and was such an amazing hype women during the shoot.

How has the experience affected how you view yourself? What did you get out of it?

It has helped my self image greatly. I’m finally starting to see how other see me when all I can see are my “flaws.”
